On September 28, 2018, LACEMOD staff joined dozens of other researchers from University of L'Aquila for "Univaq Street Science", on the occasion of the European Researchers' Night 2018. During the entire day, the lab staff held a Pop-up entitled "Studiare la Natura: dal satellite al microscopio", aimed at explaining to children and to all the people attending the event what the study of biodiversity is made of, putting them in touch with the concrete "working tools" of environmental scientists. Moreover, in the evening, part of the lab staff held a seminar entitled "Campionamento, telerilevamento, analisi cartografica, modellistica ecologica: al servizio della biodiversità", in the context of the "Discorsi da Bar" event: in the picturesque location of the pub "Fratelli - Il Bacaro 2.0", Dr. Mattia Iannella, Dr. Walter De Simone and Dr. Francesco Cerasoli tried to show as clearly and intriguingly as possible to the participants how new technologies and field work synergistically contribute to the conservation biodiversity research.
